Q: Is it St. Maarten or St. Martin?
A: Whilst they are spelled differently, technically they're both correct St. Maarten referring to the             Dutch side and St. Martin referring to the French side.

Q: What currency do they use?
A: On the island, they use Guilders (NAF), Euro and US, but US$ are all that you will need.

Q: Are the locals friendly towards tourists?
A: Yes, yes they are very friendly towards tourists.

Q: Do you need a Visa to go to St. Martin?
A: U.S. citizens do require a Tourist Visa to enter St. Martin/ St. Maarten. However, a U.S. passport is required and must be valid for a minimum of 6 months from the date you plan to depart St.        Martin/ St. Maarten.

Q: What is the legal drinking age in St. Martin?
A: The overall minimum drinking age is 18 years.

Q: When are the high and low seasons on St. Martin?
A: High season runs from December to end of April, whilst the low season is from May to the end of      November.

Q: Are there dangerous animals on St. Martin like snakes and spiders?
A: No, fortunately, there are very few harmful species there.

Q: Can I pay in dollars on the French side of the island?
A: Shops, restaurants, and hotels accept payments in dollars. Most credit and debit cards are accepted      on the island, but cheques from banks are very rarely accepted.
